Participants

The participants involved in the study will mainly include university students (n = 200) attending several innovative Earth science and Computer science courses and some professors who taught the above courses at a national university located in the northern region of Taiwan. These professors should have expertise in Earth science or Computer sciences. Senior high school students (n = 400) and teachers will also be included in the third year study for the application and dissemination purpose.

Future Innovative Science Learning Environments (FISLE)

The implementation of the FISLE is illustrated in Figure 2 and detailed described in the following
sections.

Preferences/Perceptions of Future Innovative Science Learning Environments (PFISLE)

The Preferences/Perceptions of Future Innovative Science Learning Environments (PFISLE) will be developed and designed by the main study, assisted by other three main sub-subjects, to jointly quantitatively measure students’ preferences/perceptions of PFISLE with the focus on classroom, mobile, testing and even TTA, SLS, STI, and SLO components, and to explore related issues with respect to the new learning environments at both university and senior high school levels based on a previous instrument (Chang, et. al). The instrument may consist of several subscales with both preferred and actual or perceived form pooled together. The following question is a projected sample item.

Help teachers plan the content and simulation materials of the online class.

1. My preferred, anticipated situation is ……(preferred form)
2. My actual experience was ……(actual form)
